He was born on Dec 28,1932 in Gujarat. He was regarded as a successful and inspirational manager for young business people. He started his life as a garage attendent for Rs 300, soon he rose to a position of sales manger. He later started textile industry exporting nylon and importing polyster.

Made the first public offering in the year 1977 and gave a total of 450% to shareholders for the three years together ( 1977-1980). He died in 2002 yielding his business to two sons anil and mukesh ambani.

He is often regards as a man who taught the people abt shrares...

Prime minister Man mohan sigh has suggested RBI to revisit the full convertability of rupee. The same suggesstion has been suggested in the year 1997. He has also appointed a commitee for it under SS Tarapore.

But it seems the converatablity issue will be a gradual process because weighty issues like macroeconomic consolidation and economic reform are still waiting to be resolved.In 1998 east asian currencies collapsed since the investors fled to safer havens, but indian currency remained unaffected by the catagion since the currency is less open and not vulnerable to capital flight.

A move towards convertability will surely result in economic growth.
